I have been working in the field of education for the last 42 years. Working with children is my life's passion! I hold a life elementary teaching
credential, an administration degree, an A.A. in Early Childhood Development and a B.A. in Social Science.
I began my career as an elementary school teacher for the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District. I then entered private education and opened The Learning Academy School in 1984. I have been the Director and Elementary Age Teacher for the past 34 years and proud to have served hundreds of families with their child's daycare and educational needs over the course of our years in operation.
My hobbies include reading, pool aerobics and any activity that involves being with my family.
I have been working in the Child Development field for 18 years. Teaching children gives me inspiration and watching them blossom is incredibly rewarding.
I have three AA degrees in Child Development, Cross-Cultural Studies and University studies of Social and Behavioral Sciences. I completed my BA in Applied Psychology in 2015 and finished my Master's Program in Early Childhood Development in June 2019.
I have five energetic children of my own ranging in age from 4-18! During my free time, I love to go to Seaworld, the Zoo and Disneyland with my family. I also love country concerts, sporting events, being at the fields, karaoke, crafting and going out to eat.

My name is Ms. Desiree. I am a proud mother of two sweet and kind-hearted children, ages 7 and 10. I love the beach, camping, music, food, God and spending time with my friends and family. Working with children is my passion and I truly feel I was put on this earth to care for and teach young minds. Nothing brings me more joy!
I have been teaching at The Learning Academy as a Preschool Teacher for 2 years, but have been working with children of all ages for 15 years. I am currently working on obtaining my Associate's Degree in Child Development. I believe in continued education to ensure that I am providing the best possible care for your child.
